anybody use these? they look ok (in the pictures!) i really want a 1 3/4" wide, but for $100 these might work...

still no replies... i see there are some issues with sharp frets? i refretted my boogie bodie, no prob.

I have one that I was going to sell but decided to put it on a squire body. I like the necks, they are very similar to the American Series Strat necks. I had no problems with the frets. There is a guy on ebay who usually sells them pretty cheap. I paid $114. for mine from Stew-Mac plus tax since I'm in Ohio.

thanks 77, great pix. i'm throwing together another strat with a humbucker. i think one of these necks will be adequate. is that the "c" shape? they have a couple of options.

I believe it is the "C" shape. It's the only one Stew-Mac sells (as far as being a modern, not vintage)

Grover minis... wonder how they make the guitar feel?

The added weight seems to thicken the tone a bit. Which is good for a humbucker equipt strat. (IMO)

I have two MM necks. They're both maple V necks. For the money, they're frickin awesome. But I prefer Warmoth necks.

I've used them a few times. As long as you can do some minor finishing like the frets and a little bit of fine 2000 grit paper to the back, they are killer for the price. They have birds eye maple on ebay, which are probably the best. Can get them with a Floyd shelf as well.

I've built three guitars and used the MM rosewood board necks on those.
All have been good necks except one.
It was a birdseye maple/ rosewood neck.
The fretboard seems to have a hump above the 13th fret that I could not cure by dressing the frets.
I need to pull the frets and level sand the board. But, I haven't gotten around to it.

The main thing I don't like about MM necks is the black plastic insert where the truss rod adjustment nut is.
It just looks wrong. These are the same necks that Squier guitars use I believe.

Since then I have started using Allparts necks. Much better quality for the money.
They are more vintage correct and depending on which one you get have the truss rod adjustment in the heel.

I really like the SRO-C neck.
It has a fat but not a boat neck profile, truss rod in the heel and the frets are taller than vintage but not as wide as medium jumbos.

I have used three of the SRO-C necks so far and only one needed minor fret work to play well.

I make my own bone nuts so that helps as well.

If you can find a dealer that can order you an Allparts neck you can get them for around $120.
