Power & Preamp Valve Brands

Hi Everyone,

I'm in the market for some new preamp and power tubes. Currently I am using JJ 12AX7s in the preamp slots and JJ EL34's in the power tubes. I do not mind these tubes but my power tubes have drifted way apart, so its time to get some new power tubes at the minimum. We're talking almost 20ma of drift!

Wondering if anyone has any suggestions that won't necessarily break the bank but still have decent sound.

The amp these new tubes would be going into is a Plexi 50 Clone kit with a 1987 wired board played through Greenbacks (4x12) or Vintage 30s (2x12). I have seen some people putting a different preamp tube in V2 because of the higher cathode current, but I'm not sure if this is something I should also be considering when getting some new tubes for this style of amp.

I'd love to hear everyone thoughts and recommendations.
