Too much bass in an older Metro 1987 type amp

Post by Mxzx » Sat Aug 03, 2019 7:19 pm

Hello all, I have this amp and its just to bassy for me.

Too make it sound decent, I have to run the bass at 0; mid, treble, and presence at around 7 oclock to get anything that sounds good.

Is there anything I can change in the circuit to give me a more usable bass knob?

Thanks

You can drop the value of the 0.022uF PI input cap (after the tone stack/treble pot.

Try 0.01uF - see what happens.

You could also try increasing the value of the tone stack slope resistor from 33kOhm to 47k - 56kOhm.
