OK, so I know that rock gods from Duane Allman to Def Leppard used 50W plexis. Who else used them, and who do you think really helped define the 50W sound?

Yes Yngwie bought tons of plexis in Sweden, when the master volume Marshalls came out, everybody dumped their plexi's and metalfronts,so he bought them cheap!
I have a short video clip of Yngwie playing in Sweden, with at least three Marshall stacks, and the infamous Duck Strat, which has had the headstock broken,no less than 6 times!Yngwie says,"When I throw my guitar in the air,if a stage light blinds me,I let the guitar drop, rather than breaking my hand!"Too bad he wasn't as careful driving his V-12 Jaguar!
Yngwie is responsible for championing the big box 50 watt heads, which nobody really used before.

Also lets not forget Humple Pie's great Live Performance:Rockin' The Fillmore, the inner sleeve on the LP,shows many half stack Marshalls, and I seem to remember that in England when I lived there at the time, that the were using JMP 50 watt heads. What a great sound,Walk On Gilded Splinters, for example. Many seventies acts, especially on the continent, favored the 50 watt heads as the whole tonal response works much greater with the single 4X12 cabs, and a smoother overdrive sound could be obtained, with multiple setups!

Don't worry JD,if you look halfway like your avatar, then you will draw more attention on stage than these 'stars'!
