Carvin

Post by jerrydyer » Mon Apr 16, 2007 1:07 pm

Any of you guys ever TRY to post at the Carvin site.? If ever you want a good laugh, go post over there. This cliff claven type character by the handle VAN will come on there and put you in your place. He knows everything man. He isnt even a moderator but acts like one. I have never had a more negative experience than when I posted over there. I scored a Bel Air really cheap and there are a couple of guys who like to mod carvins. Myself included because the soak channel sucked. It has diodes in the signal chain and its not even set up right to sound like a good DOD 250. Its just farty nothing. Like a bargain basement learner amp. Go give it a shot over there and let me know what happens.

No matter how many times you polish a turd, it'll never shine.

I love my Carvin X-100B. And you can call it a turd all you want. Chances are, I will have it turned up loud enough, I won't be able to hear you. And someone did try to polish it, actually they painted it. It has this nice blueinsh tint to it in some places where some moron painted it blue. Don't care. For $200.00 to get the kind of power and tone that I can get, don't care how polished it is or how bad it smells.

I was only joking, guys. I'm sure there are plenty of practical applications for Carvins.

If you like your Carvin, then you are victorious.

I have a Carvin Belair and it is excellent. It's not a Marshall. It's a vintage blues style amp... as thick and warm as anything. Set up right, it's perfect for that kind of stuff. Boosted... incredibly warm and thick rock tones.

BTW, I'm friends with Van... He's a good guy once you get to know him!

Shure, that's all interesting and funny! The only I don't understand is,
why this topic is posted in the forum:

Metropoulos Amplification
All about my recreations of '60s Marshalls.

Larry
The fault almost always is sitting in front of the amp
