Orange County Amp Show

Post by jerrydyer » Thu May 17, 2007 1:33 pm

Is there ever going to be an Orange County California Amp Show? I sure would love to display some stuff and meet everybody who lives on this side of the states.

Ahh, I'll wheel a cab over for you to try out then... I usually have hot dogs, and beer, too.

I'll be there with WCR Pickups, V-Picks, and a few amps, cabs & speakers. We'll have to hook up on Friday nite if you've got the time, and aren't too tired.

I'll talk it up with Wagner (WCR). They've actually got a decent restaurant there with nice food, a major surprise, I might add!

And you can count on people jamming well into the night, too. I had friends from out of town down there playing amps at fairly loud volumes until 12:30 am on Saturday. We just didn't care.

I'm not bringing the asenal I brought last year, though...

but I'll still have two 4x12's (not six!), two 2x12's and two 1x12's with three amp heads (not six!).

Feel free to drag a head over on Friday or Saturday nite to checkout speakers at our room.

I assume you're driving? (Barf!)

That shot above was taken at 8am on Saturday. By 10 am it looked like this.

Image

That's Billy Yates doing a demo on the left (ex-Outlaws, ex-Doc Holliday). Had Jeff Jourard (ex-Motels, ex-TP & the HB's) there to demo as well. I think we had the busiest room at the show, according to several reports. I only saw faces while I did demos all day! I was told there was a line 5 to 25 people deep waiting to get in all day. Maybe they just came for the hot dogs and beer, but we had lots of those leftover at the end of the day so I don't think that was the main attraction.

We kicked the last clients out of our room at 7:30. The show ended at 6pm.

Then a bunch of us went out to dinner, went back to the room and jammed till midnight...again...and uh, there are a few paid hot models that hang at the show...too...such as...Lauren McDonald. She's funny...and attractive...and tall. She's 5'10" tall, 130 lbs. She's about 6ft 1 with heels. Thank God I'm almost 6'3" or I'd have to look up to her! Hey...there's an idea!

Anyone who can make this owes it to themselves to stop by Jim's room (Southbay Ampworks) and check out his amps. They are very unique and really drip tone! Of course, his speakers are OK too
