What Upgrades to get with Kit?

Post by messenger » Thu Dec 27, 2007 6:16 pm

I'm probably going to be getting a 100w kit and am wondering what upgrades are recommended, and are there any others that aren't listed? I'm looking for a hard rock, legato sound. Something with a nice bite, and a little sizzle. I guess something along the VH line, but not as much "fuzz" around the edges.

You gotta get the rear step bumper otherwise it will be the dorkiest truck on the road.

I would suggest placing a 330uf / .68 uF boost switch on V2 to get some tonal flexibilty. I use this option all the time to get the best tone when using a variety of different guitars.

Is it recommended to go with MM transformers or stick with the stock ones? What about caps?

MM transformers are great but the Metro/Heyboer transformers are really good sounding and cheaper, try the Sozo caps,I have built a number of amps with these parts and have been very pleased with tones.I gig with these amps on a regular basis and get plenty of complements on the sound, bluze
