So what do you actually get with these kits?
1. Are all the parts required to make it into different era specs included with the kit? I would like to make mine into a '68 model with Metro trannies. (EDIT: another question, is a 12 series the same thing as a '68 spec?? So many options!!)
2. If I chose the Metro power transformer, do I get the dual voltage mod with it or do I need to pay $30 extra for the mod kit?
3. Can I not get the Allen Bradley NOS CC kit with the 100W model?
4. How come the shipping doesn't get reduced if I chose 'minus headshell'?
I'm a complete electronics noob and my only previous experience in electronics is builing a BYOC TS808 copy. Is the build easy enough if I take my time and follow the instructions carefully? Do I need any special equipments for the build? I have a soldering iron, digital multimeter, wire stripper and screw drivers.
Thanks!
Kaz

Welcome Kazuto! no worries on being an electronic noob... this is a great forum that has helped me through several builds!
If you take your time and follow the instructions you should be good to go... sounds like you got the right basic tools... I'll do my best to answer your questions...

No - You can specify what specs you want when you order - the prices deltas are on the website
2. If I chose the Metro power transformer, do I get the dual voltage mod with it or do I need to pay $30 extra for the mod kit?
I am pretty sure all of the 100 Kit PT's are now all dual voltage. If you dont't want to do the dual voltage thing you can shrink tube those wires and do it later if you want.
3. Can I not get the Allen Bradley NOS CC kit with the 100W model?
Yes
4. How come the shipping doesn't get reduced if I chose 'minus headshell'?
EDIT: The kit comes neatly packaged inside the headcase... the chassis would ship in roughly the same size box as the headcase... the only difference is the weight of the head case...

Thanks very much for the info! So how do I choose which spec I want? There isn't a drop down menu to select such thing when you go to the store? Also, I noticed that the bare bones kit has the 12 series package option, do I have to go for this if I want a 68 spec? I would really like a complete instruction though.
I'm pretty sure I read a thread somewhere where George was saying that the dual voltage thing was a secret circuit? Is it openly available now?
I didn't quite understand your reply to my Q4. Headshells weigh a lot so I thought I could save a bit of money on shipping too by not getting the Metro headshell and buying it elsewhere instead (ah sorry, I forgot to mention that I'm from the UK, and shipping is very expensive at $220. Does it make more sense now?).
Thanks!
