Hi Guys,
Just to let everyone here know that David Ryan Harris is happily playing his Metropoulos '67 replica onstage on John Mayer's new DVD 'Where the light is'. It's seen as part of the backline at least a dozen times throughout the DVD and it's unmistakably a Metropoulos head and 2X12 cab.
I gotta say that this DVD is incredible and having just picked it up on a whim, I was very pleasantly surprised that it is as good as it is. I was a bit of a fan before this DVD but now I really think that John is due as both a player and as a writer, not to mention DRH as a great player as well.
There were a few moments while watching it that I really felt connected to what he was doing and it's rare that I feel that way about any relatively new artist. He is one to watch for sure.
I was jamming along to the DVD using my Metropoulos 68 plexi replica and my Fender Strat having a blast as well.
One thing I will say is that I have a want now to get a looper to play along with because after seeing John use this in the intro and outro I see how useful it can be to play lines over a 30 second passage of chords. It seems like great fun.
I like the new forum makeover...neat!

Yeah, DRH is a great player -- I caught some clips that George posted before, using a Metro 50. A looper? Yes, an invaluable device for some situations. It really can be just the thing. Not much for them myself. I never cease to marvel at the wonderful things I hear Bill Frisell come up with, though.
