The red stuff on the terminals is actually just from a red sharpie. I was trying to make it look like the red dye Marshall used to put on them.
I just got in from tonight's gig. I played this amp and it absolutely rocked! I'm going to hate to let it go. Oh well, all the more incentive to build another one. What color should I go for next????
I have a couple white head cases in stock.........

It's obviously the red case.
It's just the sum of the parts. I've got the formula down pretty good.
This time I used all carbon film, except for the 2 watt power resistors and the 47k NF. I did use the fast recovery diodes that were suggested by Don Butler. Those may be having a positive affect.
The big tone items are the Heyboer trans, Sozo caps and JJ tubes.

I think it's that blue BC electrolytic!
I noticed that you're using ceramic caps too (except for the 47pf). I just put them in my '74 and I really think they help smooth out the tone and make things warmer.
Have you had a chance to try out the Vishay metal film resistors in any of your builds?
