Wow forgot about Overdose, gotta hear that again, been a long time.

I think the idea of them using JTM45's and JTM45/100's makes the most sense, if you believe all the quotes from the Young brothers themselves and their techs. This is an interesting article, if you haven't read it.

MArci thanks for heads up on that band I love this sound. Guys to hit this tone what would you recommend 67 100? 68? or the JTM45/100

Ok listening to Let There Be Rock and High Voltage. Dig the songs but not the tones. But then Highway to Hell has lovely tones. On the opening riff of H2H itself you can hear that crunchy, squishy plexi tone. So different then those other two albums. So if they use JTM45 most of time what gives?

Totally different tones. I love Highway to For Those About to rock. Could a 68 cover these or a 50 plexi? (jtm50)

The mark of a good amp is that even when your fingers ain't cookin', your amp is. -Malcolm young

Where is the "balls" control? AH! here it is. why'd they label it volume?

the fact that the young bros were using jtm45s in the 1990s don't mean thta they used jtm45s in the 1970s. Most of the 70s stuff sounds like el34s to me. and most live shows sounds like master volume amps whereas the studio stuff sounds more like plexis

interesting. but the european high voltage LP from 1976 is actually compiled of two different assuie albums (high voltage from 1974 and TNT from 1975). I guess it must have been hard if not impossible for poor assies to find new GEC kt66s in australia in those days. perhaps they had one or two early jtm amps with the original kt66s? It seems that ac/dc and the other aussie band at that time were constantly borrowing amps and cabs of each other. they just took whatever was available and whatever worked well.
