cliff jack question

Post by dast » Sun Mar 04, 2007 10:46 pm

so, these jacks have 2 black "washers", one hex nut finish washer and the hex nut itself. Am I right in thinking there's one washer on the inside of the chassis, and the second washer, hex nut finish washer and hex nut are on the outside?
thanks,
Dave

One washer inside, one thrown away on the typical Marshall chassis -- there's not any space to use the second fiber washer.

Why would you put an extra washer on the outside?

Just the rounded washer where the hexnut goes into and as many washers inside to make it fit (usually just 1 on a Marshall chassis).

I don't think an extra washer on the outside looks that good...

Just to be clear here? we are all talking about the type of cliff jacks that have the chrome style nut ? so when you say 1 washer outside you do mean the finish washer shiney plastic one? and one inside the fiber type? I use 2 ea fiber type on the inside chassis side then the shiney plastic one with the chrome nut outside of chassis,

They're already mounted to the jacks.
