Ready for a 12000 series build?

After alot of amp experimentation, I guess I'm right back where I started with Marshall. My personal favorite is a '72 Super Lead. I'm ready to seriousely look at a Metroamp 12000 series amp. I'm really curious what if any difference I am going to hear with the build compared to what I would consider a very good sounding '72.

I think I would go with the MM transformers. I would really appreciate some opinions from folks that have both a nice old Marshall and a new Metro and their observations. Of course the closer to the VH tone I get the happier I am.

I would go with George's iron. I think the MM is little too trebly for me.

Excellent, I'll take that advice. how many hours does the build take?

No way to answer that. It depends on how well you understand the cirucit your building and your soldering skills.

George's iron is great. Marstran iron is great, too.
