My Metroplexi Super Lead '69...

Just wanted to thank George Metropoulos for giving me the chance to build the amp of my dreams, Larry και Mark for giving me the chance not to spend some time behind the bars by owning this amp and mister Electrictabs (Chris) for building this amp and made me smile till eternity...

So we've got a Plexi 100W kit, wired to Super Lead '69 specs...Sozo Mustards, Metroamp Dagnall Clone ΟΤ, Metroamp 1203-80-MS PT, push-pull VolI for selecting two different bright cap values (silver mica 250p and a 4700pf Sozo Mustard if i am not mistaken that gives me either the 250p value or the almost 5000pf), F+T cans and of course the Larry/Mark type PPIMV...

Inside:

Master Volume:

Push-pull VolI pot for 2 different bright cap values:

Outside:

Inside out (V1=Mullard 12AX7, V2=Tungsram 12AX7, V3=Mullard 12AX7, V4-V7=JJ E34L):

Bright cap selection:

Variac (no its not for EVH tricks...its just that with socket voltages from 220V to 250V i needed that) the not-so-useful-at-the-moment Hotplate (actually i dont use it):

Right now i have to deal with the sound of the isolation box and mic position so i need some time to play with the sound that is being recorded (wich is not as much SWEET, DETAILED, CREAMY and so forth as it is when you hear the amp in person)...so soon or later i'll update the clip-thread

nice work Freedom.

i do notice that you have the cathode resistor leads, like v1b for example, touching the caps.

realize you have anywhere from 150 to 200 volts right there touching on that .68u cap. if it were me i would make sure the leads don't touch any of the caps.

Thanks for that Mark!!!

I would be much obliged if you could show me (photoshop it or something) the exact points we should take care of (i am not much of a technician myself)...

We will open the amp for one last time to replace the faulty master volume pot so we could fix anything else needs to be fixed...

surely you know what i mean without drawings after you built your own amp?

Nope i didn't build the amp, mr. Electrictabs did it for me...

I can solder guitar pickups but thats the best i can do with electronics...

Nope i didn't build the amp, mr. Electrictabs did it for me...

I only made the maquette (no big deal, all i had to do is to find the "right" font and do some minor adjustment) and then i gave it to a proffessional to implement it...

Should only be a volt or two on the cathode resistors/caps of V1a,V1b, or V2a. Of course you still don't want to damage/short those cathode bypass caps with resistor leads pushing or melting into them or things could sound bad/noisy, but no high voltage concerns there.
