Metroamp again taking on mods and repairs!!!!

Post by VelvetGeorge » Mon Jan 14, 2008 1:18 pm

I'm happy to say that a fellow tech here in Burton, MI has found some time to take on repairs and mods for us. He has been in repair for over 30 years and a guitar player even longer. At his day job, he handles warranty repair work for Marshall, Korg and several other musical instrument companies.

We'd like to get started with PTP board and OT upgrades on Marshalls. I'll be putting together a standard package and price. Tubes will be optional. Any specs are no problem, Lead, Bass, '66, '67, '68, metal panel etc.

In the future, we will offer more services to the list. Including: echoplex and space echo service, Celestion reconing and more.

Thanks, please send inquiries to sales@metroamp.com

Everyone should send at least one piece for repair/upgrade to Metro, my '72 SB is the finest amp I have ever heard in 30 years of serious playing, George replaced the out of spec parts, cleaned it up and changed out some caps, sounds like it did the day it was born (probably better!)

Sorry Josh, my time's been a little packed of late too. I'm still working on the parts list of what it will take to finish the amp with what you've already gotten.

Yeah, I figured you were busy. No problem as it will be a few months or so as I've still got to get a rear panel made and a custom chassis made. And I still have to get the headcase made. I figured I'd go ahead and get a ballpark figure for the rest of the build so I know around how much $ I'd need saved up.

And if I go with Larry's loop, then I'll have to source some caps that match what I'm putting on my board.

Seriously, I'm busy (3 amp builds on the bench), but will consider offers and requests for builds, repairs, customizations, repairs, etc. PM me for more info. I'm in Birmingham AL.
