Bass or Lead Spec?

One more quick question before ordering. How different are the 100 watt lead and bass kits from a sound standpoint? I was just curious if I could get some opinions on which one I would be better off getting. I really enjoy The Song Remains the Same kind of tone for my Les Paul and the Woodstock sound for my Strat and home-made Fuzz Face. Which build would probably get me closer or should I just order the extra parts and try them both out. And, if so, what are the extra parts between the two? (jeez, I don't want much, do I?)
Thanks for the help!

Well, let's go...
If you want to play with a les paul and get pages tones, you need a SL build with 5000 pf bright cap.
For strat-players i prefer superbass builds, as the guitar itself is bright sounding.
A good compromise would be a SL build without the bright cap or with a low-value one.
You should be able to build the amp in lead or bass specs with the same kit, they should contain all the parts FWIK.

Thanks for the reply. While I had gotten the impression in other posts that the kit could be built either way, when I looked on the online store it asks for you to select lead or bass, so maybe I will just need to buy some extra parts. Is there an easy way to know what they are without cross-referencing the BOMs? This is for the stock 100 watt plexi style kit, by the way!
Thanks again!

I just added the Lead or Bass specs option. This is only for the signal cap values that we include with the kit. The extra resistor and silver mica values are already included with every kit.
If you want the extra parts to try both circuits, you could just select the lead option, and add:
(2) .1uf 400V signal caps.

start with the 2 .1 output couplers, I always prefer that spec with lead or bass, then try the different tone stack, then try splitting the v1 cathode. You may stop somewhere in between!!
