I understand the 12xxx is the EVH amp, but what are the differences between the '69 kit, the 12xxx, and a 10xxx ?? I'm trying to decide which one to buy. I vastly prefer the VH2 tone over the tone on VH1, if that makes a difference. I actually play more regular classic rock in my band than we do VH.
Also, I understand the '69 kit is supported by Metroamp, but the 12xxx kit is not. If I buy a '69 kit and build it, can it later be converted to a 10xxx or 12xxx without a major overhaul ??

Briefly in a nutshell:
The 10 series is essentially still the "bass" circuit and uses a 2" core Drake OT and EL34's.
The 12 series has the later "lead" spec's (compare the two looking at the board components and NFB), along with a 1.5" core Dagnall OT.
