Just the numbers in order: 7

High Voltages on Preamp Tubes.

Post by harkkam08 » Thu Feb 10, 2011 3:27 am

Hey guys I was doing some voltage testing to make sure my amp was okay after pulling the speaker cable out while turned on.

All the voltages check out however I noticed that the preamp tubes have higher voltages than the charts by a good amount.

V1

pin 1: 200
pin 6: 202

V2
Pin 1: 184
Pin 6: 318

V3:
Pin 1: 252
Pin 6: 237

My AC voltages measure 3.55 not 3.15

My plate voltage is about 504 V on each output tube.

What could be going on?

high voltage dont hurt:

I run about the same preamp voltage you do, since almost 3 years without problem so far.
For the AC voltage you mean the heater Voltage? If yes, they sound high.
