Just installed the Metro loop in my '79 Marshall JMP...

...and it came out really really well!

I didn't want to drill any holes, so I really took my time and ended up with a perfect solution. Totally reversible.

Take a look and a listen. The clip (via iPhone) has my TC Electronics Hall of Fame reverb in the loop on the Hall setting. Guitar is an Epi Elite Les Paul with Seth Lovers.

Seeing as you can't access the switch, and leave it on all the time, why not just solder the wires from the pots directly into the board and eliminate the switch & the brown/white wires completely?

That is what I did on mine, works fine (I cannot tell when it is on anyway!)

Just spotted the bias caps in your pic. I don't know how much experience others have with these, but from working on vintage tape decks I can tell you that Frako are some of the worst electrolytics that I come across. I can't suggest strongly enough that you replace these (especially since the bias supply is kinda the most important part of the amp...)
I know it won't be original afterwards, but they really are very prone to failure in my experience.

Rifa, Vishay, Xicon, etc.

10uF, 160V or thereabouts.
