You tube clip of Metro 12 series with 2 in 1 mod

Post by neikeel » Sun Nov 29, 2020 5:32 am

Here is a clip from Mr Amp

IIRC a 12 series with mods I built a few years ago (2014 according to my 'sharpie') I know who I sent it to but not sure if he is Mr Amp!

Incorporates Steves loop, my version of his 2 in 1 and the virtual variac.

Sounds great Neikeel!! I'm itching to start another build over the winter...might do a Jose style with 6v6 outputs this time around.

I made a Princeton Reverb but with LTP PI and presence circuit (a la Bassman) with 6v6s and it sounds very blackface (as opposed to tweed) which is what I wanted.

I've been given a blockend chassis that has a lot of minor errors (for making a proper Marshall clone so I am contemplating another build that can use either 6L6 or 6V6 in the Tweed mould with tube rectifier, 4k4 OT (I have lying around) and a PT to give around 360-380 on the plates. I've never built a Joes style (by which I presume you mean diode clipping circuit?)

I still have JTM blockend trem to put together plus my Orange ORST second batch when I get time.

I look forward to your 6v6 build
Neil
