That's a good price. What do you mean when you ask what to look for?

A PTP board and Metro/Heyboer OT will improve the stock tone by miles. On the other hand, if you like it as is, that's cool. Good price though. I rebuilt a used RI and it's a completely different amp now; much fatter tone and more gain.axeman wrote:What should I look for?

I've owned a few 90's reissues and they all sounded great. Honestly I would play it for a while before rushing into "fixing" it. If you do change anything I would start with the OT as on this forum it seems the consensus is it would make the most difference. Plus trying different tubes.

Actually it is FN loud, louder than any of my builds. Also it’s very bright, but it’s the closest EVH sound I have, so automatically I love the amp. I’ll post pic’s today. Thanks

Plus the pcb reissues have always had a metal panel flavor to them so I'm sure a few folks on here would want to talk about filtering, cap values etc. closer to a 68.

Sorry one year later. I think a PPIMV and a Cascade mod will be good after I form the caps.

Thanks Instrutor I'm trying to figure out how to one wire mod it. I think I have to unsolder R8 (one Leg) and unsolder GRN6 and solder them together for a one wire mod. Does that sound rite?
BTW the caps are formed. Took 2 hours 4.2 volts.
