That's mostly me just using the same settings as the other spec with all the extra gain available. I didn't have time to play around much with the settings and Duke recommended keeping them quite a bit lower. I got a bit carried way that I got it working, ha ha ha....CoffeeTones wrote: ↑Tue Jun 08, 2021 2:49 pmSo much gain, the amp is choking and sounding un-natural.

Done! Will try to make some clips later if I get the house to myself.

You’r asking me? I’m trying to follow your directions here
Let’s see if I managed. It should be this now:
2k7/.68/.022/470k+500p/5n/220k on pot
5k6/.22/.022/470k+470p/470k
3k3/.47/.022
820
50k (2x100k) 4 Ohm .68

It is extremly sensitive to gain settings though. The clips are at 4 and 3,5 and the difference between 3 and 3,5 is very audible.

I was asking because you were changing things up a bit, and i had sort of lost track, yep you have a lot of gain on tap now. What do you think of this spec compared to the best spec ?

It just took me a while to get the shielded cables right. The first I was using kept shorting out on me.
It’s kinda weird, in some ways that other spec overall sounds «better» and fuller and is much more forgiving, but if you get this one dialed in just right then there is something happening on the intro to WTTJ and SCOM that is more «right» to my ears. It has that combo of chunk and stringyness that I have been chasing.
