Nice sounding TeleGib. How ya been?
Keeping ok, and you ?

I build this Tele with the same wood you would use for a LP, HB are A5, the amp spec is a tweaked Levi 36 mod, speakers G12m25w BB

:toast:
Which exact bridge plate did you use?

I need to get some pics of my Tele. It has a Warmoth ash body, translucent butterscotch, forearm drop upper bout, Duncan pearly gates Tele size bridge, SM1 mini humbucker neck pickup set. Fender deluxe neck 9.5 radius IIRC. I built it several years ago.
My guitar started out like this:

Here is the plate I used:

No hot shield yet. A tweak or two to come.

Cool, I don't have wood working tools. Kudos to you! Is that bridge made of steel or some other alloy?

I just tested it there with a magnet and it sticks lol, so it must be steel.

Cool, do you think brass or stainless steel would tweak the bride tone? Probably not as much as on a standard Tele bridge but if you get a lot of feedback / brightness, it might be worth a shot. Suppose to be an eddy current thing from what I've read. Some of the stock Teles came with brass bridges. I believe the American and Custom Shop versions. I'd have to check them again them to be sure. It's been a while. Some lower grades of stainless will attract a magnet, but a lot less than plain steel.

I haven't thought much about that sort of thing, I'm just glad that it sounds good.

That is sounding good and definitely on track. I'll be anxious to hear the final results! That was also some pretty good playing, I might add. What pickups were you using? I love the way your power chords were sounding, aggressive, balanced, and in tune. Nice job!

You'll have to ask Sonoman. My #36 spec, his playing.

I can't say much about using a steel bridge on a Tele, but I tried one on my LP once and did not like it. I know, a different animal, but maybe not so much with the same woods? The highs were brighter, but there were less mids, and the bass got a tad bit too boomy. It also seemed to focus more on the fundamental note, and less with the harmonics. Which is possibly what made the bass a more boomy. With this steel bridge, I was also using steel bridge post, steel thumbwheels, and steel TP studs, so maybe just too much steel altogether. I still use the steel TP studs, wouldn't have it any other way, but the rest got swapped out as fast as I could do it.

That sounds so good, and close to the original, that when SCOM started playing it sounded like you were doing the 'Haas' effect with your recording. Great job!
