If your reverb plugin has a mix or blend knob, you can put that straight on the track. If not, then you should use an aux track as Unique suggested.

You can, but you lose some control. You want to put it on an Aux track, even if your plugin has a mix slider. There's so much more you can do with it when it's on an Aux track. Also, when you put a plugin on the insert you have to be aware of the order, and with what other plugins your using it with. Some don't play nice with others, and can affect the sound of other plugins before them. Plugins are finicky with their order on the inserts.

I agree, and I always use an aux. But, there are no rules, and if the mix control gets the desired result, then all good. If you want to eq the reverb, or share the reverb, or automate the reverb, or compress the reverb, or gate the reverb, etc, then yes an aux makes more sense.

A bit late to the #36 party, but I finally managed to install this mod in my '77 JMP. It's dated 10/10-77 so three days after #36.

Now I have to figure out how to post a video. Still missing a few small things but it's already sounding rather cool.

It was. I found the power amp had been modded to plexi feedback. Changed that and added shield trick on the first stage and it's already alot bighter.

Keeps going off on a tangent 'cause this curcuit is very fun to play around with. Only thing not in there yet are the 6550s as I need to change the grid resistors.

I mostly used the #34 schematic and info in this tread. I'v been following this tread since the beginning waiting to get my hands on an amp with an extra tube so I can try this stuff. So big thank you to all you guys who kept this going. When this one came for sale last year so I had to get that and installed the tube myself. Greatly inspired by Larry's beautiful mod pics, but I'm not that patient and I don't think guys in the 80s were that tidy so I just threw everything in there around the added tube socket. But it works and doesn't squil so I'm happy.

I just realised last week though that I didn't know any GnR songs..... so I had to go to YT and learn some.

Speaker is a classic 80. It's in a 2x12 with a V30 so I placed the iPhone on the C80 side.

Yeah for those of us who are 5 years late to the party, ha ha ha.

Nah, according to Duke it is two 2k7/.68 stages and one 10k stage, so I just put a 2k7/.68 stage in front of #34 and removed anything in #34 boosting gain as that is not needed with the extra stage. I will have to figure out how to post pics again. It will be a bit embarrasing after Larry posted his beautiful work....

Cool. 10k input grid on that stage? Can't see all the color bands. 1n bright cap? Post more clips when you get the chance. The amp sounds pretty meaty. I like it.
