Here is a pdf showing the Slash AFD and the YJM 100 amps..discuss?

I understand that Marshall have "borrowed" from the patented London Power Scaling circuitry by copying it but changing certain areas of the circuit, so as not to incur a liscening fee, I wonder?
I found this info on the 'unofficial' Malmsteen forum, the amp to be announced at NAMM next weekend, one can imagine Marshall balking at the prospect of using a 100 watt 'big box' with a 1987 chassis, as prohibitively expensive..

Apparently this amp has a boost circuit built in, something approximating the grey spec DOD 250 perhaps?
Also it has digital reverb, not something associated with YJM normally.
The half power 50 watt setting has been criticised already as not accurately representing a full out 50 watt of that era as we well know, Yngwie preferring the metal panel MK II amps from 1972-3 era.
All the features are footswitchable, including the effects loop, it shares the self biasing feature from the Slash AFD amp as well as led's indicating power valve failure.
Some have criticized Marshall with basically using a 1959 RI and modding it, ect., and Malmsteen devotees are gob smacked that a 1959 100 watt circuit was chosen.
Personally for my money, the Metro 1987 circuit in a 100 watt box, with Metro's great FX loop would be a much more effective Malmsteen signature amp, the '71 spec 50 watt....but I have always said that.
Does this mean all the Malmsteen vintage amps will be on Ebay now?
Fender still lists and shows their YJM Stratocasters fitted with DiMarzio pickups, whom Yngwie had abruptly left after a very long partnership with that company.
No sight of the YJM Seymour Duncan pickups from Fender.
Malmsteen's tone has significantly altered for the last 15 years or so anyway, becoming overcompressed and more gainy and generally muddy compared to his glorious early Alcatrazz and the revered Live in '85 Japanese tones.
I will be interested to hear this amplifier.
On a personal note I did sell my '04 YJM Strat quite awhile ago now, (to obtain the rare Washburn SS model I purchased), so I do have an Analogman 741 Mojo modded, Outlier tweaked YJM 308 pedal, that is the early tone with most vintage Marshall circuitry, so I have no interest in purchasing this new amp.
In fact I have sworn off any new Marshall product for the rest of my worldy existence

But I am hardly suprised by this new amp, basically it is what I expected, ect.
