Marshall logo and tolex history
Whaddup boys? Have a couple late 60's Marshalls I'm working on and trying to figure out if logos have been replaced and when white tolex actually came into play. Anyone have info on this?

Re: Marshall logo and tolex history
68 Super Lead. It has white tolex but it is obvious that it has been re covered. I don't think any amps came in white. I've only seen Black, Purple and Red for 68's but I'm trying to confirm that.
The other amp is a 69 Super Tremolo. Early 69 I'm guessing. Power caps are underneath and OPT Trans isn't rotated 90 degrees. Oriented front to back like 67/68. It has Black Levant tolex but had a white (no gold) 6" Marshall logo. I was curious if all logos still had gold in 69.

Mr. New...I'll take a look at my 69 Super Bass later this week. Currently it's buried behind a bunch of cabs, covers and speaker boxes. But I've got a client coming for a demo on Friday so I'll check it out when we move stuff around in the shop. Best I can do right now, sir!

That'd be awesome Jim. You have my phone number so maybe a couple quick pics and texts?

Re: Marshall logo and tolex history
I changed phones awhile back. I did see it today moving cabs around for a demo. The 69 SB has the white 6" Marshall logo. It's not gold.

Re: Marshall logo and tolex history
So it looks like the white logo's started in 69. Anyone else have a different experience?

Re: Marshall logo and tolex history
1969 sounds accurate from all that I've seen. Same year that 9" logos appeared at some point on cabs (as can be seen at Woodstock in August of that year).
