i recorded these just as demo to show all the different flavors of the modes.

i placed each mode starting at A so you can really get afeel for each of their tonality.

again these are just demos playing the notes so you can hear each mode's color.

Yeah man. That's good stuff. Some modes sound minor, some sound major and others are just seem indifferent. So there's 7 in all? Did I count them right?

If you look at a major scale as a pattern each mode starts on the next note of that same pattern. My problem is remembering the name that goes with starting position. Once you know the pattern of the major scale on the whole neck you know the pattern of the modes it is just the tonic or starting point that changes.

Rockstah you did a great job demoing the modes. It is the flavor or character of each one that makes them so useful. I guess if I trained my ear to hear the difference I might not need the name?

Alex, the need for the names is simply so you can call on the tool thats needed like a standard screw driver or a Philip's head. ya know what I'm saying? :D

Great playing Mark.

So you're just going through like A Ioanian, A Dorian, ect. ?

Or are you playing A Ioanian, B Dorian, C# Phyrigian, ect. ?
