DERRINGER

Post by yngwie308 » Tue Apr 01, 2008 2:44 pm

The prototypical All American rock band, not GFR  , Derringer in the first incarnation with Danny Johnson and Rick Derringer, Derringer and Sweet Evil being awesome and later Neil Geraldo, both great guitarists.
Derringer has reformed and I think it is great for Rick to have done this and to hear all these tunes again. :D
The original lineup hits the road, unfortunately not near Phoenix, bu that's ok:

Hollywood, The Key Club, that's near the Chief!

"Derringer, the band found themselves the opening act for AEROSMITH's Toys In The Attic, and Rocks tours."

I saw that tour when I was in High School. I didn't know who Derringer was but I certainly did after the show. He BLEW Aerosmith out of Madison Square Garden that night and I loved Aerosmith!

May
10 - Stateline, NV - Harrah's
16 - San Juan Capistrano, CA - The Coach House
17 - Hollywood, CA - The Key Club

The Coach House is even closer, Dave. Might have to go! :D

I liked his solo in Wierd Al Yankovic's "Eat It". Didnt he also play a few solo's on Kiss' "Creatures Of The Night" album ? I have listened to some of his 70's stuff, it was pretty cool, he and Pat Travers seemed to have some similarities.
