I believe he's always used a mountain of 50 watt plexi's, but other guys here would know better than me.whopperplate wrote:WOW! What a tone!! Anyone know what the guy was using here?
Friggin' amazing on all levels though. I've never seen anyone that plays like him.

couple of 70's strats with stock necks (most likely HS3 pickups), the duck, grey dod250, yellow dod250, boss chorus, 70's marshall 50 (or 100) w lead amps, H30 or M 25 speakers

The way his setup setup sings and knocks in this video is just plain awesome. Reminds a ton of EVH's best tones. I found this video that seems to be from the same show, and it shows his pedal board during the interview. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YOsLSX8GhmM" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Yep, what Stef said, which you can see there on the video. I still have the actual release of this video/show. Basically a good vintage style strat with the dimarzio's along with a 50 watt 1987 model Marshall into 65 watt celestions (not sure about the speakers though) turned up pretty loud(output break up point) with a DOD overdrive preamp in front.
The tone that Yngwie got on the 'Marching Out' album is about my favorite tone of his. He was able to even get his rhythm sound good on that one.
