Well... I talked to him at a guitar show not too long ago, and he did not really have too many nice things to say about JW. In fact I would go so far as to say he was dissing him pretty badly. Cool that he's born again, but it really doesnt fit with what he was saying, ESPECIALLY since he punctuated every dis with "praise the Lord". Seemed weird. :?

Fillmore, I think Rick harbors some resentment concerning Johhny, but probably more for Steve Paul, the infamous manager of both and the guy who ran the Scene club in NYC, a place you know well.
I am waiting for the book Marriot,Trower, Derringer, Gallagher, from Rick's website, signed by him no less, so there will be some cool stories in that older book as well when I get it.
Born agains are reborn, the old man is dead, the young man alive in spirit, it's just in this world, the very world will attempt to drag you back into it on a daily basis and try and ressurect the old man.
I struggle with this as well and will until thereafter, but it is a battle already won and trying to manage a 'showbusiness' career, is hardly the most Christian thing to do, imo, but Rick is a huge acheiver and is a total guitar man imho.

I think you're right that he harbors some resentment, and the stories about Steve Paul keeping Johnny addicted are really coming to the surface of late. BTW, I know ALL too well the old man, and for me, he is not dead, because I keep him around just as a symbol for the young man to view, and scorn for all his repulsivness. The old man sits in the dark corners, taunting, luring me with all manner of temptation, and false promises. BUT... because the young man sits on a throne built of strength, determination, and tempered knowledge learned of trials, the old man is resigned to his leering gestures... spinning tales of the hollow existence he leads, trying his best to convince me that the grass IS greener on his side. Well, it aint gonna happen. Ive been on that grass, and felt its barbed stingers hidden amongst the now rotting flowers put there to decieve me. Those days are LONG gone, effectively dead and buried, may they R.I.P... So, the old man still taunts, and the young man, confident in the new day ahead, breathes deep the fresh air of a new life found. That young man is over 50, and feels stronger than he did 20 years ago. But not as strong as he'll be in another 20 years... or another 20 days... or 20 minutes. Really glad you're with us, Yng. 8) 8) 8)

You are too awesome Fillmore, that absolutely cheered me up no end, I am 53 years young and I am feeling way younger than that.
There are some very cool people on this forum and I am glad I didn't leave it over the 'cleansing', allthough to be frank I was pissed, but water under the bridge. Glad you are aboard as well my brother. :) 8) 8)

Derringer is really good too. From Sloopy to Hoochie, it's all good.
