I had a MM back in '79. P90 model.
Sounded good but I traded it for a L6S. I was young and knew NO better.

I was hooked on Life in London. His style was different from what I was used to but back then atleast it was quality.

Pat Travers probably would have come and gone and I'd have never known about him (until, at least, when he started getting major air play here- "Boom, Boom", "Snortin' Whiskey", etc.). But I was fortunate to have caught a program on a local FM radio station in the late 70's where they played both sides of an album at midnight (with only commercials during the flip). One night I decided to record whatever it was and it was "Puttin' It Straight". When I got up the next morning (midnight was way past my bedtome :D ) and heard it I rushed right out to buy it! Fantastic album! Love the cover, too! That prompted the immediate purchase of the first two albums, as well. Now, if I can just find all three of them on a FACTORY CD (that's not a crappy album burn like what I made) for a decent price...

I was a really big fan of Pat back in the early 80's. Him and Thrall were just great guitarists infused that killer boogie woogie style to hard rock and roll guitar. EVH had a few tunes in that style ("Beautiful Girls", "Hot for Teacher" etc.) and they were great, but imo, these guys had a more legit take on it. Rawer, not so "cutesy commercial" sounding. I love this style, but haven't heard it for years...I gotta track down some Cd's now!
Fuck it.

First saw Pat at My Fathers Place, Roslyn, LI in '78.
It was the first gig with Tommy on drums.

Didn't quite like the band as much when they added Pat Thrall, although the guy was killer.

uhhh, that's almost sad blast! i was talking about his "70's" rig, it was alot more of an impressive pile of pedals if i remember right! hehe. yeah, i loved puttin it straight too, i think my old band played life in london more than pat did. heat in the street too. & like i've said about evh, i thought theys guys were forging a new path in "hard rock guitar" but it never really seemed to come to fruition.

"Go For What You Know" live....man, it's just classic. My brother had "Makin' Magic" on 8-track...scorching cover of "Statesboro Blues" there
