Greg Howe

I have a Black HM Strat like in this Video (Except it has a Darburst and CTS Pots with the coil Split, Single coils not hooked up)

I've had this guitar since the late 80s, when I bought it for 400 and some change, and always heard later on that it was endorsed by some guy named Greg Howe. Never heard his music till today, and I must say he does rip.

Although that guitar would sound better with the Darkburst, and through a Marshall IMHO.

Here's some more riffage

Mike I saw Greg's amazing gig at the Electric Factory in Philly, also met him for a signing at George's Music store in Pa., I loved his tone and whole vibe, I had a signed cassette of High Gear.
Another guitar/drummer brothers outfit, Greg's HM Strat was cool and these are cool rare guitars that didn't get a lot of love back in the day, being forced to the cut out bins as it were, but a buddy had a pink one and I loved it's Super Strat vibe, a quality piece.
I liked this playing back then and this was way before my Malmsteen disease, I mean phase..
Too cool Greg, Mighty Mike we have very similar tastes you know!! 8)

i'm a GH fan. he's "grown" quite alot as a player over the years. i admire his versatility. another one of those guys who's too jazzy for rock fans & too rocky for jazzers.

The High Gear album with his brother singing is AWESOME. The guitar tone on that album is killer.

I'm a big fan because he does keep improving and can totally keep your attention with some very cool guitar playing.

No ear fatigue from listening to Greg!

Absolutely a fantastic guitarist.

I'm sorry if I offend anyone but, this guy is my substitute for VAI.

can't listen to Vai for any long period of time....screws with my head.

I remember getting TOO comfortable with my technicle abilities, and then hearing Greg Howe's first solo album in 88 or 89. I loved his vibe. Like crossing Van Halen with "SleepWalk" era Larry Carlton. "Pepper Shake" is awesome. I also agree about his "High Gear" album. Great Tone. I remember getting a Dimarzio super 3 pu (didnt work for me though) cause Howe used them. I even tried the HM strat, but the fretboard was TOO wide for hands. I think Howe played AND soundsd best when he used those guitars though.

I saw the High Gear band live in Philly and have the CD. Met Greg at an in store promo visit, no playing there though.
That band with his bro on vocals is really great!

Greg played a Fender The Strat back then.

Good player. I hate how he endorses those cheap Laguna guitars.
