John Denver

Post by NY Chief » Mon Dec 31, 2007 10:54 am

My wife is a big John Denver fan. I got her his Wildlife Concert DVD and watched her with it last night. The guy is actually a pretty good guitar player (and my wife got really horny and didn't let me sleep all night <yawn>). I LOVE John Denver!

I'm going to have her watch it again tonight!!!!!

I like John Denver. He was a great songwriter and good acoustic guitar player.

I was close to posting here regarding Dan Fogelberg's death on 16 Dec, but figured folks wouldn't care much. He was another great songwriter, IMO. Died of prostate cancer at the fairly young age of 56.

Guys like Denver, Fogelberg, James Taylor, Gordon Lightfoot, Jim Croce ... they created some great music. John Mayer has acoustic skills and a flair for pop as well, though I guess he's forsaken that to be a "bluesman".

Either way, if it gets the wife "in the mood" it's worth a spin. :D

That's a touching story, pardon the expression, and actually a sweet story Chief! My wife likes '70's melodic rock, can't stand eighties, or Yngwie, .
She hates screaming lead guitar and prefers fingerpicked chordal melodies for me to play, that's cool :) .
If we all liked the same thing it wouldn't work, it's great to have romanticism still alive.
