Randy jammed with Jimi and was heavily influenced by him. I loved his playing and writing in Spirit and especially the Kaptain Kopter album, which had versions of Day Tripper and a James Brown song done with heavy guitar I Don't Want Nobody To Give Me Nothin', which was awesome.
Randy was mainly a Strat player and sadly died rescuing his son from the surf in California.

I think that Spirit's album "The Twelve Dreams of Doctor Sardonicus" is one of the all time best albums.

A waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay under-rated album. There isn't a single bad song on there.

It fit right in line the best of The Beatles or Hendrix IMHO .. .and it still sound mordern by today's standards.
