Here's me with my new Epiphone Valve Junior (set at 9:00 on the volume knob), with a grey-spec DOD 250, BOSS DS-1, GE-7 equalizer, NS-2, and a BOSS CE-5 Chorus to fatten things up a little, like yngwie308 has theorized in the past. Using my Squier Strat, recorded off axis with an SM-57, into a Lexicon Alpha interface. I rolled a small amount of treble off in Garageband, and used a little of Garageband's reverb as well.

Here are some new clips up from Live in Leningrad:

When I first had this show on VHS I played it to death and was able to get a boot DVD, the 'official' DVD is cut up, which is where these clips were taken from.

Yeah, all these videos are great!!! I love them a lot, I got my boot DVD too and really enjoy watshing the WHOLE show from Leningrad. I also got the official version of the show too. Just cannot understand... WHY the official one is too short??? Why they took them off??? Really, WHY??? It is too sad :(

Newest attempt at the early tone. Treble reduced, and dumped some verb in. http://www.vulomedia.com/audio/audiofil ... Miced3.mp3" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

By the way you've recorded it, you've really captured the "Openness" of the early tone.
However to my ears your still miles away from the actual tone, IMHO only of course.
Whats amazing is that youve got a valve junior sounding so good for this style of music, A lot of guys would be quite happy with that kind of tone at home.
Do you have a 50w NMV to try it with?

Well, who actually IS close to the real sound? :D

Nope, just the Valve Junior and a 30W marshall solid state (ick) but the Valve Junior's probably going to be modded soon to get a little late '60s Marshall character, probably a full tone stack and another tube.

Good Point :mrgreen: :lol:
I can get the Live 85 Tone (with one 50w Marshall and a few old bits and pieces) and the Facing the Animal Tone (with a different 50w Marshall and different cabinet) but I'm still struggling with the Rising Force/Marching Out tone.
You've got the recording sussed for that era so maybe thats the key difference?

I've got one more "period correct" tweak in mind so maybe I will finally get there....But I doubt it :lol:

Cool video of Yngwie's rarer guitars, especially the maple capped ones, which have always fascinated me...
