I'm having George load it with the spanking new Celestion G12H-75 Creambacks, which I believe to be my dream speaker in comparison to those bloody G12H-30 Heritage's that came with my ex-Handwired cabs.
I have been looking into attenuation as I must tame my roaring Super Lead at home. I'm hot for the Friedman STFU, but $1K is rich for my taste for an attenuator. I don't know. George is too busy to mod a Power Soak to a dual channel like the STFU.
George does say it is so transparent it's like it is not there, his opinion I rate highly..we'll see

Great song. Vintage RB!

Great song, RIP Jon Lord.

Sounds like something from Cozy Powell's Over the Top LP. "The Loner"?

Here's another with great pics...

Just so happens I got an email from a DP fan forum... (no, not THAT DP you heathens!  )

I'm getting old, I was there for some of it...

"Any anniversaries to celebrate?
Well it's the 45th Anniversary of Mk 2 for starters, which is quite something
(especially for us oldies who were around at the time), and also the 40th of
Burn. Still not feeling your age? Then try the 30th anniversary of the
reunion on for size. It will be 20 years since Steve Morse joined - his
first Purple gig being in November 1994.

On the Jon Lord scene, the countdown to the special Albert Hall memorial
show in April is on. There are plans to record and film......

The Jon Lord photographic book is well under way and promises an interesting collection
of images (many never before seen) and possibly some previously unreleased
music as well through a CD in the package.

That was great, man. Directly reminded me to Rainbow's - "Anybody There", Chief.

Hi! Sorry for the late reply! That amp was the first on my list when I started researching and if it hasn't been for the price of shipping + VAT I would have gone for it. It got too expensive in the end. The builder is a huge Blackmore fan obviously, great guy. I know some people who got it and they are happy with it but I haven't heard any samples.

the classic '77 show with ronnie in top form and cozy humpin that kit. ronnie still had sweet tone at this point (gone after sacred heart) Man what a show! during mistreated you can see ronnie playing the trumpet on his mic along with cozy's snare rolls and ritchie's trills. so classic! ronnie's first instrument being trumpet i do believe

I'd wager (though I dont know for sure) that they are Seymour Duncans ? He has used the quarter pound model before. Boy, what a BEAUTIFUL woman can make a man do (Ritchie's wife). I know he has always liked Medieval music, but I think she likes it even MORE. Ritchie seems to have a bit more technical expertise than before, and the ENGL amps sound very good..........I just miss that BLATANT aggression and disregard that he used to have back in the day, just pummeling the speakers with Marshall Major's (Kt-88's  ) and stock pickup 3 bolt strats :champ:

Hi Guys

I'm a Blackmore student and I 'd like to share with You a series of Blackmore Tones from MK1 era.

I don't particularly like the tone on "Shades of Deep Purple" album.

Here are a couple of examples of BAD tones

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jt2W1MGwrwM

Guitar solo

Approximetely at 2:18

Wide vibrato with a lot of sustain (too much).A serious of Bendings ecc

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kXcaYs7UHcg

At a certain point (approximately at 1:28 until 1:34) basically RB strumming Chords

In "I'm So Glad" at 2:45 and on 3:03 3:38 and during the Guitar Solo (buried in the mix with No presence at all) at 3:38

The Tone in All these examples is extremely bright (I'd say Trebly) with a sort of Jingle.

Just Awful IMO

I don’t particularly like his tone!Drenched in Reverb
