"music should be made by people "

"the drums need to swing, I'd spend my time thinking about patterns with the bass drum instead of time"

unique patterns with the bass drum, unique to the melody of that song is what's missing today. players play standard rhythms over the top of the song, and don't adapt them top it. "and that is all part of a drummer being a musician and not just a hitter"

this is some killer marshall tone. check out the mel galley tone throuought the siw but rifht from thehe solo on the first tune ! what a tone! Do you have any idea how hard it is to get such sweet compression but still retain all the high end spank and sparkle ! Very difficult to do. Great version of mistreated round about 30 min mark. jon lord intro is that cozy on drums! this was a killer transition period between the original and the '84 version of the band. cozy's new here replacing paice and the band is tight and swinging this show. compare to the '84 Tokyo show and it's a mess in comparison. either bad night or not jiving with sykes......in any case, cozy 's right on here, except for fool for your loving which seems way off compared to ian's version
