Holdsworth 1982

My favorite Holdsworth article because it's set at the period in time to discuss 'new' things like, early Charvel guitars, jamming w/ Eddie Van Halen at The Roxy, Seymour Duncan '59 pickups, string/neck widths, basswood bodies, brass sustain blocks, tubes vs solid-state. Plus in the next 36 months Allan would produce the 'Road Games' and 'Metal Fatigue' LPs. A good point in time for guitarists, to be sure. I don't always agree with Allan (on softwoods, etc.), but his attention to detail and these Guitar Player inteviews decades ago helped me to become the gear/tone-junkie I am today... :)
