JTM45/100 Dickinson Amp Voltage Chart

Post by Wayne » Fri Jul 24, 2009 12:04 am

Attached is the voltage chart from my JTM45/100 (Dickinson / Hendrix version).
Note lower V1 voltage readings due to extra 10k drop resistor & 32uF on board cap.

Marstran 1202-43 PT - lower voltage secondary taps used.

All voltage readings with the exception of V1 (as indicated) are the same as the standard readings. Refer to voltage chart posted by VG.

Quite concerned about the 360+ volts on V2 plate.
Could only imagine V2 plate volts if the higher secondary taps were used (560v).

Suggestions on best 12AX7 for V2 please !!

I like a mullard in v2 for that dirty middy marshall sound. perhaps the new tad mullard will work?

Tad Mullard? Is it a rebranded New Sensor Mullard?

I think I'd go NOS and not screw around. Mil spec something..GE, Sylvania, etc.

Looks like what the Chinese were doing for Groove Tubes, so called mullard.

Just an update on these voltage readings.

It may be of interest to some - I used Brians 20H RS replica choke.
I've read a thread here somewhere discussing voltage drop due to the resistance of this choke - something about Malcolm Young using a power resistor etc for more voltage drop ?

Anyhow the 20H choke doesn't appear to have a huge influence on final readings.
I don't seem to hear any ghosting either. Not sure if the choke has anything to do with this.

Maybe i'm deaf too !!

Also - anyone know what happened with Will being banned ?
The website for his JTM45/100 build no longer exists either - the link doesn't work anyhow.
