Cap question

Post by BoogieEngineer » Tue Jul 17, 2012 5:27 pm

Hi. I got a question regarding the far left cap on the following layout by gutpile
http://s64.photobucket.com/albums/h174/ ... Layout.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.
I got a 220uF 25V for this position, is it safe? I'm concerned because the cap I've got is barely bigger than a 1W AB NOS CC resistor while every JTM45/100 build I've seen got a big one there, almost as big as the preamp cap in the center of the board, even though I'm not sure about the voltage rating on those caps. Thanks for the info!

25V is more than enough. There's only a couple of Volts there.
