oh, is there a story about this friend of you, working on a jimi Fuzz ? that's interesting .. what did he manage on it ?
did he tell you about the gain range of those particular BC183 ? was it in 68 - 69 .. ?

Nice Fuzz Face $1,400. Yikes He says it's a secret he won't tell but he will be happy to build one for me :jimi: he is a well known effects builder in the Seattle Area ;) ;) For a Silicon Fuzz (150 to 175 hfe for Q1) (300-350 hfe for Q2) will get you close, Q1 should be about 1/2 the gain of Q2 :jimi:

oh, is it kevin randall ? i saw a fuzz on his page, supposedly jimi's fuzz. and someone said that this fuzz was a later 70' fuzz. ^^ ..
we discussed it some months ago, briefly, i don't remember where.

yes, Q2 does all the job, and Q1 shouldn't exceed Q2.

by the way, for a very low gain germanium fuzz, i'm looking for a nice low gain silicon transistor ( arround 20-30hfe ... ) , i'd like to try something. But Joe Gagan is sending me a little cool hybrid fuzz for fun. they sound great.

Ha ha yeah good guess ;) ;) he told me he didn't want me talking about his stuff on the forums ;) ;) yeah he makes 2 different fuzzes, an octave, and the killer vibe I have one of those :jimi:
