So are all these parts NOS?! I had no idea the Shin-Ei company still existed...much less that they would still be selling parts like the foot controller. How did you get all this stuff?! Are they new or NOS?!
With that Gilmour style strat I'd love to hear a clip of "Breathe"...that's one recording that we absolutely know Gilmour used the Uni-Vibe for!

Shinei was resurected only recently ... as well as Honey ( the former brand that produced the univibe, before shinei ) , and companion.
not all parts are nos, no ... the cells, the diodes, the caps, the bulb, the transformer etc ...
only my piher are nos ! lol
yes, with breathe, it works perfectly ! i'll have to setup my ribbon mikes someday to try to capture a part of what it does in reality. in reality it's amazing.... love it.
this gilmour strat that i made features this magic switch and it's very very cool, it should be on every strats. 69 slider's pickups work Wonder with this setup and tyhe west coast amp.

sure, it allows more pickup combinations :
neck + bridge ( sounds really like a telecaster, love it ) , and all pickups.
just with one tiny magic switch , like a secret weapon

that's how it was on David Gilmour's Black strat.

Well, that's how it was at one of the later of many, many stages of Gilmour's black strat!

thank you ! honestly the clips really can't tell how heavenly it is in reality. i now have this perspective on the clones and i can't believe i saw the megavibe as a great vibe once ..
it's really different, the signal just flys .
a good capture of this pure univibe sound is berkeley's version of machine gun, the cool tricks jimi does in the beginning, the slow vibe ... well that's the same. impossible to get there with another clone, or i'd say : without the west coast amp.

thx for mentioning my work Adrien,
wondering if you'd be in the mood to post a list of ideas that seem to you as being crucially important in reaching your final build results ... what transistors you used, cells, bulb ...
glad it worked out so well !
