Jimi Hendrix' Gear and Mods at West Coast Organ and Amp

His guitar slung across his back, his dusty boots is his cadillac.

Ahhh, well.....
This has gone to shit.

We get someone (Dave) who obviously was there, back in the day.....
To give his "inner know how", of all things Hendrix.
Gospel.....?? He never said this.
Take it for what it's worth. You decide.

And then along comes the two biggest d-bags, with all things pertaining to Hendrix.
Skankmonkee and this internet slob, carlygtr.

Ah, F this......

Thnx Dave.

Now boys.........
Let them all take their best shots at me. Look at all the responses, cool music clips, and all the rest of the increased interest. Gotta be worth something! Besides I'm getting off on the efforts of everyone to get that "just right tone", no matter how they get it.

Now check out the Hendrix at Stockholm in '69 video, and listen to what happens when he steps on the Wah. The volume actually dips a bit to compensate for the increased mid range boost in the Wah. That's a fuzz with a resistor in series with the guitar pickup; the volume won't go through the roof in uncontrollable feedback when the Wah is energized. That's what a West Coast mod did, and it's probably a West Coast fuzz circuit. That's one way to tell.
Another is that you can hear increased gain/guitar feedback with lower fuzz.

Jimi James with his cool clips made me want to jam on it too. here it is but please, guess what fuzz it is, and what settings ! :D

( but shit, it sounded better through my headphones ... not the same once through the speakers. the acoustic isn't good, it doesn't match the Fillmore east )

two versions :

To Kind of Loud,
I don't know where you get off calling me names since I have had nothing but supportive things to say about Dave being here and sharing his experiences which are all totally valid and make total sense from an electronics stand point. Yes Carl made some derogatory comments towards him but we all know where to lump that anyway and is of no consequence to those who are interested in getting some honest info. I would hope that this thread can steer clear of juvenile BS like we find elsewhere since Velvet G is a dear friend and I know he won't allow any shills to drag it into the gutter so let's all be respectful and try to listen and maybe learn to share instead of bully!
PS Xplorer, great tone on the Who Knows track!

Velvet George..?? Ooo, ya got me shakin' in my boots.
Somebody calls out your f'n bull shit, and you hide behind the moderator, huh..??
Well at least you posted this time, without a link to your friggin' Star Spangled video.
Progress is being made.

Supportive of Dave.....Hmmm....???? Not from what I've read, in this thread, and others.
In layman terms, you pretty much called the guy out, as being full of shit, with the FF mods.
But I guess that's OK, seeing as Velvet George, is a "close and dear friend", right..?? Psst...

Here's the thing....
I could give a f'n shit, about your f'n fuzz box, with everything on 10. Wanna talk electronics, smart guy...??
Then put together a box, with the mods Dave has given, and prove him wrong.

Ahhh, these internet smart asses, that hide behind skirts.
Love it.

LOL! Big man behind the keyboard aren't ya?! I build pedals for a living moron and already have custom built FF's ala Daves suggestions! If I didn't know better you fit the exact M.O. of a certain Internet maggot from the past coming back to lurk again! LOL! It's humourous to me as always that you can try to derail a perfectly civil thread with the same tired tactics but I do believe that the rest of us could care less! And in the immortal words of someone very famous for saying it..."where's your video?" LOL!

Wow,
I'd love to see ten new posts every morning, especially if each one had a clip of some new sonic adventure!
This is great.

Any fuzz can be modified, and if you want to post your schematic I can suggest things to try. Silicon models may not quite have the mellowness you want.

Keep the posts coming, and tell your friends.
