James Marshall Hendrix

His guitar slung across his back, his dusty boots is his cadillac.

Cool man, I'll have to try and procure some bootleggage of that set.
You don't need to. Look here first...

http://www.amazon.com/Live-At-Scene-Clu ... 24&sr=1-33

Hendrix plays awesome during the whole session, the Red House jam is really outstanding, '...found myself dead' and 'Bleeding Heart' are powerful as well, but then the whole thing falls apart in a way through the doors of perception...
However, it's still interesting how Jimi tries to hold the whole thing together musically and again comes up with some great riffs and soloing until the end.

The other stuff is out there too - if you really wanna listen to it.
Well, it's worth it at least once.

Cool! Thanks Man!

I'll give those a listen right now. Thats sorta my view on Jimi's body of work is that everything is worth at least a listen, usually more than once.

The whole tone of that gig is consumed by Hendrix's tone. Sounds like a 1200 series Marshall, a fuzz face and a 4/12 cab loaded with 25's. Big, brown assed gain just a thumping.

I can listen to the most raggedy assed Hendrix boots/live/unreleased stuff over and over again and never get tired of it. Hopefully I'm not alone in this camp.

Fritz, the Scene Club stuff is cool for sure, definately worth me trying to get a hold of. Thanks for clueing me in.

Wow, this is Horst Stachelhaus on the bass there, one of the top german bassists at that time. Love to see him play...he died in '99. Had that been shot in Europe? Horst was part of his european backing band. I saw them in the early nineties in a small club and my ears were still ringing two days later.
I'm not too excited about the whole clone thing, but Randy Hansen really manages to create some of Jimi's vibe on stage. I like that. :D

Thats him, and yes, I heard he had passed away.
Yes, this is Europe.
I have another show (TV show) with the same lineup. I'll be posting those vids as well.

Great stuff. I always find it interesting listening to one god guitar player talking about another. Unless he says something really stupid. I am remember the dickweed "the edge" saying something about Beck that was totally assinine. Like Beck shouldn't even be considered in the same light. Yeah, right.

And, look at Eddie sucking up to Jim Marshall. Proabably before Jim said "no freebies for you there, Buddy!" :D
