post jimi specs that work for you. I'll start with a 12000 series superlead.

Filtering:
screens 16 or 32
phase inverter 32 or 64

v1a 820ohm, not 2.7k like the alu amps. this is important with strat, less so with LP.
3H choke, not 5h or 8h
NFB: 47k

tubes
v2: use a real mullard
RFT el34s
watch the preamp voltages so they are not too high. Get a PT that sags, not the 450ma stuff, but something that is historically correct like a marstran.I like around 480v on the plates for jimi

not ready yet ! ^^ but i want to ! nice idea !

actualy, the absolute best would be for each person : specs + hendrixy clips ( speaker used etc .. ) so we can compare ! and also analyse what's the best to our tastes, through the different specs and clips that may be posted ( without too many effects etc )

yes, i saw some of your fb pictures with the jtm and the blackflag, nice ! i was about to do the same, with the same marstran chassis that i helped to design a tad. got two of these, and i thought of building a jtm 45/100 and a blackflag. But i'm not sure about the blackflag or i'll have too many el34 amps ( two sl 69 ) , when i think i'd love the kt66 amps. so the essentials from this marshall era , the extremes would be perhaps the best. i haven't enough audio references of the blackflag to compare and decide.

the dual rectifier amps is one of the coolest plexis ever imho, but its a little hard to get right. it can be one of the best - and worst - sounding plexis, depending on ghosting etc

which songs ( hebdrix songs ) would help me to identify the sound of this blackflag ?

basically all the dirty tones on the second album, Axis, are black flag

nice. Then would we consider that little wing and castle made of sand may be a blackflag at a clean level ? or something else ?

the old story, which still seems plausible, is that Axis was a sound city mk1 100w for clean tones and a marshall for dirty tones. so, no blackflag at clean level no

I first heard it from Guitar mags, and it fits very well with pictures from that era (and it sounds like it as well). Anyway: what's your Jimi specs?

i'll tell later. yes, let's not forget the subject.
do you have some clips for each specs ? that would be very cool to illustrate the specs.

Great topic,

I've been playing with this split cathode Super Bass amp trough Jensen speakers that's kind of a Band of Gypsys sounding rig.

The amp is fitted with original dubilier 0.1 caps so it's deeply in your face and so spanky. I'll post some new clips later. :listen:
