Good morning i can ask on Hendrix setting. I want know as Hendrix tuned. I trying adjust dohme, could anyone send pictures or Hendrix tuning record. Thanks very much.

Ps my string few rattle, string g few rattle when i have dohme down. Sorry for my english but i am from czech republic thank.

I have univibe jhm3, Jimi Hendrix fuzz face, wah vox thank for help.

I'm sure that Jimi tuned many different ways for the sake of a particular song BUT, he typically tuned down a 1/2 step so that the tuning would accommodate his vocal range much better when he was singing.

Two options, slightly heavier heavier strings or a decent set up of your guitar

yes, a decent set up of your guitar, very light pure nickel strings, and especialy .... going softly on the strings. I strongly think that Jimi didn't attack the strings with much force, very gently, didn't need to force, his fuzz and amp settings were very sensitive and if he tried a lot of different settings, to me he mainly rolled down the strat volume a bit, for clean tones ( while the fuzz was crancked ) . this gave him more sensitivness out of his rig, all he had to do was to change his playing if he needed to get other kind of reactions, all in the fingers and the gears would follow. more possibilitys this way.

And it made sense to me again when i read a little interview of a roadie or i don't know, a tech .... ( was it gerry stickwell name ? ) he said that if he played Jimi's rig, all he could get was feedbacks and he was admirative of jimi's magic which could get proper notes and sounds out of it. Well .... just having to play with the strat volume ! i think he forgot to try this. IMO that's why his clean tones are like no others, they're colored, and with a different dynamic.

i usualy tune my strings by ears, to what i hear of Hendrix, if i like to play along with it, and for me, i also prefer to tune them down.
And yes, on some other songs, mainly in studio, his guitar was set higher.

And dohme ? when i have dohme few down strings rattle but are light. When i give string up is better but i have dohme few down.

So I have a lower Dohme or no thank very much.

Do you mean the action of the guitar as set by the bridge height, or the nut?
