Here's my good friend Bob Jacobson's '69 Superbass. It was inside a building that caught on fire and had a layer of black soot all over it. A lot of the nasty soot was cleaned off, but it was never the same. Now it's been completely disassembled and properly cleaned.
Next I'll replace those orange drops with some Mallorys.

I spent a lot of time cleaning the chassis and parts. The inpection tag was all but gone. I did try to save as much of it as I could.

The panels on this amp were in really bad shape. It was the first actual Marshall to have my plexi panels installed.

what did they use for the tube holders back then? They look all crazy! (I don't know what the technical name for these are but they make sure the tube stays down)

The tube holders are asbestos. Maybe that's why they didn't burnup.

Asbestos.
Man, that is ironic.
I took this amp to it's owner last week and boy was he happy.
I didn't charge him anything since he's gonna paint my chopper this winter. Seems pretty fair to me.

I used "deck of the titanic industrial strength cleaner" of course.
AKA steel wool.
