I've never experimented, but many on here have reported hearing a dramatic difference between having the 1 ohm resistor on the power tube sockets and eliminating them. I personally leave them off and do it like Marshall did and bias the old way. However I recently bought a Eurotubes bias probe and it works like a charm. Shows plate voltage and bias on separate readouts, just requires a simple equation. More expense but easier for sure.

Funny you mention getting rid of the 1 ohm resistors, I've actually read the thread several times where Jeremy was teaching himself how to do exactly that. Seems like it would/could make it a bit more difficult for someone as inexperienced as myself. Since this will be my first time biasing, I'd like to keep it simple, and use the least amount of tools necessary. Also, the eurotubes bias meter you mentioned seems to be one of the lower priced units that I've looked at, and certainly cheaper than the Fluke117 I have comin. I'm sure the eurotubes bias meter works great, just figured, if I can do it all with one tool, no need to use two.
