caps on bass pot?

Post by Guest » Wed Dec 29, 2004 10:27 am

i have just ordered a drop in board for a late 70s 50watt bass park marshall, cant wait to get familiar with tinkering, mods, etc. on the bass pot there is a large 10k cap and a tiny 0.001 cap. is this regular? in the little info i have gathered so far i have not come across anything that mentions caps on the bass pot. i have just sold the identical 100 watt and it was the same set up, so it seems to be stck?

I've never seen anything on the bass pot that was stock.

Not to second guess, but could they have been on the presence pot?

no, thats why i thought it was peculiar.

large 10k cap on bass, with tiny 0.001 cap

0.005 cap on treble, resistor on treble

0.01 on presence, resistor on presence

coupling caps are 0.022, even though its a bass head. the 100 watt i had was the same. i tried to put a pic up but not sure how to. if its of any interest i can mail it to someone

of all coincidences, a guy has just posted shots of his park highlighting the subtle differences in the caps and resistors of marshalls, so it seems legit!

anyone make sense of it? seems quite intriguing if this has never been known on marshalls before

I was going to post that same Park pic. It sure does look stock.

Some one must have seen this stuff before, maybe over at PP they'll know something.

I saw pics of his Park today over on the PP forum.

What a beefy looking monster!!!

I thought it kind of "different " to see caps and resistors across the tone "pots" but I could see where that would make quite a difference in tone variations.

That Park looked sweet over at PP. I'm still waiting for someone to come up with a Narb score, or even a Kitchen-Marshall.
