Tech listings moving to the wiki

Post by VelvetGeorge » Tue Nov 04, 2008 12:35 pm

Attention all techs and amp builders: please list your contact info in the wiki:

http://metroamp.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I'm creating a directory by location, to help people find techs close by.

Please feel free to mention any pertinent info about your service or products. Any if you assemble Metro amp kits, I get quite a few requests for this info.

HOW TO:

To create your page:

Contact me so I can set your wiki editing permissions.

type your business name into the search box on the main page. Your search term will end up being the name of your page, so choose accordingly. In my case, I entered "Metroamp".

The search results should include a link to "create this page". Click this and you will find the edit page.

Enter all your info.

At the bottom of your edit window you will enter the code for the category your page should be included in. In my case, it's Michigan, so I entered:

[[Category:Michigan]]

When I created the page that included this code, it automatically created the Michigan category. Which I edited with the code:

[[Category:United States of America]]

The hierarchy for my listing is:

Metroamp page (in the category Michigan)

Michigan page (in the category United States of America)

United States of America (in the category Amp Techs and Manufacturers)

Amp Techs and Manufacturers (listed on the wiki main page)

You have to kinda create things in reverse. I'll watch the pages and help out.

Tips for creating and editing pages here: http://metroamp.com/wiki/index.php/Help:Editing" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Thanks!

george
